WXIA-TV Relocation

Holder completed the WXIA – TV relocation in 2008.  WXIA is an NBC affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia.  This was a major move for the TV station and included a new state-of-the-art high definition studio.  The project consisted of renovating an existing building (approximately 37,000 square feet), along with construction of a new 28,500 square foot, two-story steel structure building containing offices and television studios.

Holder Construction renovated WXIA’s TV studio in 1995.  The last renovation included a 31,000 square foot newsroom addition to an operating broadcast facility was added to the top of a four-level parking structure. Holder relocated three satellite dishes, constructed the facility, coordinated access to the existing facility and built a new entrance to the office prior to renovating the existing space for new uses.  As WXIA’s needs changed, it was necessary to relocate to a new building in 2008.

The Holder team completed the complex renovation in 12 months.  The project included a Production Studio and Digital Studio as well as support space.  Holder provided full preconstruction services to maximize the program for the budget.
